It?s been almost 3 months since Harry Potter, The Boy Who Lived, has defeated He-Who-Now-Can-Be-Named, Voldermort. Hogwarts had been in a constant state of reconstruction in order for school to start on time after the Summer Break. However, due to the unfortunate losses and early retirements of many of the professors, Hogwarts is now hiring a slew of new professors. To make matters any more stressful there have been a handful of activities hinting to the reemergence of the Death Eaters. Recent thefts of artifacts and ancient books have led the Ministry of Magic to believe the Death Eaters are bringing back some the most heinous of magics: Necromancy. Hogwarts holds some of the last keys needed to open up such dark magic and it needs to be protected. Is this a job for Harry Potter and his gang? Nope; they?re on extended vacation. What about a new group of student heroes? Are you kidding?! No, these are not the adventures of the students, but of the Professors at Hogwarts!
The Goal:
As much as I enjoyed the Harry Potter series, I often wondered why the professors didn?t, you know, DO more than stand back and let their students put themselves in peril. I?m also disappointed in the lack of worldly magic integrated within the wizarding community. Isn?t there magic in other places in the world, such as Africa and China? I?m looking for a diverse and creative roleplay that is not too stuck on the semantics outlined in the books- we?re going to expand beyond them! So I really don?t want to see any preexisting characters.
The Rules:
I?d like our characters to be completely original so here?s what I?m proposing: ANY job within Hogwarts can be open if you have a position that you?d like to play (hey, PTSD can be hard for some wizards/witches). I?m going to be playing the new Headmaster just to help move the story along but would also like to play a professor. Magic from other parts of the world are encouraged; I?m planning on the Headmaster being a Ghanaian Voodoo-type man for some variety. I can?t predict how much interest this will get but I prefer to keep RP?s on the smaller side (5-6 people) just to keep things unjumbled. If I get only 1 person interested I?m willing to do an 1x1 with multiple characters if you are. I plan on making an intro page once I know there?s some interest including Hogwarts job vacancy announcements, maps and news clippings of events pre-story.
So, any takers? Recommendations? Comments? Complaints? Questions? If you're saying "I'd join but..." don't be afraid to say it. I'm very flexible if there's a part of this you don't like.
